Methods

Stove Doors arrive at our workshop in many different states.

The first part of the operation is to completely strip the door, using various methods including shot blasting to completely remove all old paint, rust, and general debris, so that when we apply the adhesive, it has a positive bond on the metal.

Next, any broken or rusted studs, nuts, bolts or screws are removed, and we frequently have to re cut and re-thread the holes for the screws.

For a professional finish, the inside (and if required) the outside of the door is given a coat of high temperature stove paint.

Then the door rope seal is made up to suit the door, including the rope end tape ,to stop the rope from fraying.

If the glass is broken it will be replaced with the correct new glass for your stove. If it is intact, it will be cleaned with industrial cleaner to make it crystal clear.
The correct glass seal is then cut to size, and inserted into the aperture, and the new or cleaned glass put in place. The rope is then glued into place.

Finally, any rusted screws, bolts or clips are replaced to finish.
