The door rope and glass seals on a multi-fuel or wood burning stove should be regularly checked, and replaced as soon as they have become brittle.
The reason for this is simple. For a fire to work most efficiently, it needs to be sealed correctly. If it isn't, your stove will burn at a much faster rate than normal, and will become uncontrollable, therefore costing you a lot more money in fuel!
